StatSheet's Big Ten Player of the Week for January 7th goes to Ohio State's Deshaun Thomas. Michigan's Glenn Robinson III has won StatSheet Big Ten Freshman of the Week. And last but certainly not least, Illinois's Joseph Bertrand has received StatSheet's Big Ten 6th Man of the Week.

Thomas led the entire Big Ten in scoring (23.0 pts per game). He also registered big numbers in both shooting (50%) and rebounding (6 per game). The Ohio State junior put these numbers up in a win against Nebraska and a loss to Illinois.

Thomas led scoring and rebounding for the Buckeyes with 22 points and 8 rebounds in a big 70-44 win against Nebraska. That was followed by a team-leading 24 points on 42% shooting in a 74-55 loss to Illinois.

This is the second StatSheet Big Ten Player of the Week award for Deshaun Thomas. The runner-up this week is Cody Zeller, a sophomore from Indiana. Honorable mention goes to Terone Johnson, a junior from Purdue. Austin Hollins was the highest ranking player from Minnesota, finishing fifth.

StatSheet Big Ten Freshman of the Week: Michigan's Glenn Robinson III

Glenn Robinson III averaged 30 minutes while starting both games for Michigan. His average in free throws (2.5 per game) topped all Big Ten freshmen. In a 94-66 waxing of Northwestern, Robinson III tallied 5 rebounds and 100% shooting. Against Iowa, in a massive 95-67 win, he led all scoring with 20 points and also put up 10 rebounds.

Glenn Robinson III has won the StatSheet Big Ten Freshman of the Week an astounding 3 times. The runner-up is Mitch McGary from Michigan. Honorable mention goes to Kevin Ferrell from Indiana.

StatSheet Big Ten 6th Man of the Week: Illinois's Joseph Bertrand

Joseph Bertrand, a 6-5 Junior guard, averaged 26 minutes of action over two games for the Fighting Illini. In a 68-61 loss to Purdue, Bertrand put up 14 points and 7 rebounds. After that, in a 74-55 stunner against Ohio State, he racked up 3 blocked shots and 55% shooting.

This is the first time this season that Joseph Bertrand has won the StatSheet Big Ten 6th Man of the Week. Will Sheehey, a junior forward from Indiana, is runner up. Our own Oto Osenieks receives honorable mention. Minnesota players have not yet been named StatSheet Big Ten Player of the Week this season.
